World Jewish Relief has launched an emergency appeal to respond to the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi over the weekend. More than 800 people have been confirmed dead but that number is expected to rise dramatically as rescuers reach more remote areas over the coming days. You may have seen the horrifying images of buildings destroyed, cars washed away and relatives searching for loved ones.
World Jewish Relief hopes to provide emergency relief such as materials for shelter, food and water delivery, medical, hygiene and sanitation supplies.
The World Jewish Relief emergency team is currently assessing the situation in Indonesia to determine how they can provide the best support to people hit by this tragedy. You can read more on their website: https://www.worldjewishrelief.
