Thank you for taking an interest in donating to NPLS.
Other pages on this website contain information about the many activities which make NPLS such a vibrant community.
Most of our finance comes from members subscriptions but donations and legacies are essential if we are to continue to thrive and develop.
- Mark a special occasion such as a blessing, bar/bat mitzvah, birthday, wedding, funeral or yahrzeit
- Thank the community for giving pastoral care
Help the community to continue to provide resources by giving donation or a legacy

Here are various ways in which you can help NPLS:
CARE
CARE FUND - support the work of our Care Co-ordinator and volunteers in providing a range of support to our members – occasional transport, meals, etc.
BEREAVEMENT FUND - support the training of volunteers and work of our Bereavement Support Group
SUBSCRIPTION SUPPORT - help with the subsidy which NPLS provides to members who cannot afford the full NPLS subscription
EDUCATION and ARTS
WILLIAM WALFORD-GRANT EDUCATION TRUST - help provide grants for young people to benefit from educational experiences in Britain (e.g. Kadimah summer camp) and Israel and other countries
CLIFFORD HYMANS TRUST- help adults to further their Jewish knowledge and assist NPLS in expanding adult education programmes
FRANCES SACKER GALLERY FUND - enhance the Etz Hayim Gallery and Art at NPLS
SANCTUARY
FLOWER FUND - contribute to the flowers that decorate our Bimah at every service (beautifully arranged by volunteers)
JUDAICA FUND - help acquire and enhance our Judaica
CENTRAL and EASTERN EUROPE
CZECH AND SLOVAK FUND - help the newly-emerging congregations in the Czech and Slovak republics and support activities aiding our historical research into our “Torah” towns
EAST EUROPEAN FUND - provide much needed financial support to help congregations in the FSU (particularly Rabbi Misha Kapustin in Ukraine)
BUILDINGS
REFURBISHMENT FUND - support us in keeping our premises in top condition. They are being used continually and require constant maintenance due to wear and tear. Most of this is paid from subscriptions but there are capital items which are not funded. Help us replace roofs, boilers, windows and other capital items.
MEMORIAL
TREE OF REMEMBRANCE - remember a relative or friend who has passed away, with an engraved bronzed leaf on the Tree of Remembrance in the entrance hall of our Synagogue and a dedication in the Memorial Book.
HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY
Support NPLS’ efforts to mark Holocaust Memorial Day including the joint events with Northwood United Synagogue attended by nearly 2000 children each year
Plus … of course … the Synagogue’s GENERAL FUND that goes some way to finance our many expenses and so allows us to provide a greater variety of activities.
